About Bloom In Art

Hi nature's beauty lover, great to have you here! :)

My name is Kindeng Simamora, the face behind Bloom in Art, originally from Jakarta, Indonesia and now living in a beautiful Wezep, the Netherlands. It is a small place but surrounded with great nature. About 700 meters from my house you will be in the meadow that will become purple in August due to heather that grow there.

My love for nature is a precious gift I got from my mother. In my mind I can still see her taking care of her many plants happily. When I asked her why she liked the plants, she said that they gave more O2 for us. Now I have many plants in our house as well and it doesn't stop there. I remember my daughter's so many times reaction; "Did you buy new plants again?!" For me there is NEVER too much plants, like there is never too much O2. I hope you agree with me :)

The love was growing

My love for the nature was growing. Several years ago I came across an article on the internet about pressing flowers. I was so happy to see the results. What a beauty can nature give us. The combination of the colours makes a special creation. The flowers are pressed and dried but they still shine out their beauty. Even with their fade colours they're still beautiful. I feel something nice in my heart and it puts a smile on me. This 'simple' creation of the nature makes me happy. It resonates the nature in me.

As a nature lover I love hiking, enjoying the greenery around me, listening to the voice of nature, breathing the forest air and being free from the hectic world out there. It’s always my dream to work with plants and flowers. So when I saw this pressing flower, I heard the “Eureka” voice in my mind. Making pressed flowers creations teaches me how to take time and be patient, how to look at flowers, leaves, grass, twigs from another angle, appreciating the nature for giving more, appreciating small things.

Pressing Flowers

With the nature and colourful spirit of pressed flowers, I started to gather flowers and to found information how to press flowers. I dried them in a book (good for beginner), and waited impatiently 3 - 6 weeks. :) I am always looking forward to see the result of my flowers pressing. How the colours turn out. Some colours become dark after pressing, some remain the same and some become lighter. Even the same flowers can have different colour after pressing. It always surprises me.

The result is not always like I want. I made lots of mistakes and I learned also lot from that. And I keep trying. I learned that's handy to have note about how long pressing took time. That is different for flowers and it also depends how you press them. I started to make my own flowers press, to use microwave and iron to press flowers. I learned which flowers are the best for which way. Exciting floral experiment.

My first dried floral creation is an initial for my husband. I got that nice feeling again and couldn't wait to make more. When I showed it to him, he loves it as well.

I can be happy with simple things that people see normally as scratch. More than that, I can use these ‘scratch’ floral things to make people happy. During the proces of making a painting with pressed flowers, I imagine that people will receive it with a smile. A thankful work.

People used framed florals I made as unique gifts and I always enjoyed their reaction when they saw it. They're happy and they are surprised, they didn't expected that it is made from simple things the nature gives. It's not just a gift, it's a botanical art. I made more creations; flowers arrangement, initials, animals and cards. I still have many idea's waiting to put in work, to make bloom in art.

Bloom in Art to Share Happiness

Bloom In Art is a place where we celebrate the beauty and wonder of pressed flowers. I believe that pressed flowers are more than just a decoration. They are a symbol of nature's beauty and a reminder of life's precious moments. With their unique colours and shapes they capture the essence of nature and bring joy to people's lives.

Happiness doesn't have to be far and difficult. You can get it from small things around you. With the aim to share happiness and to keep valuable moments alive, Bloom In Art is born.

Our pressed flower paintings make a one-of-a-kind and thoughtful gift for any occasion, from birthdays and weddings to housewarmings and holidays, or just because you want to make someone happy. I make every piece with passion and love. If you can feel it, I am blessed.

I make my own creations but if you have your own idea or wish, don’t hesitate to let me know. I can help you to convert the idea into a botanical art that will give you joy for many years. Thank you and keep the flourish spirit every day!
